KATHMANDU, DEC 02 - The government on Monday decided to provide Rs 1 million in cash to the players of Nepali cricket team who returned home yesterday securing a place in the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2014.
A meeting of the Cabinet in the Capital today made the decision to effect so as to felicitate the players who registered the greatest achievement in Nepal's sporting history to date.
As per the government decision, each of the players will get Rs 1 million, while the coach will receive Rs 5, 00,000. Likewise, the officials from the team management will receive Rs 3, 50,000 each.
Nepal secured their berth at the ICC Twenty20 World to be held in Bangladesh next year for the first time in history after finishing third amongst 16 nations at the recently held Qualifiers in UAE.
Following the confirmation of their qualification to the World Cup, National Sports Council had recommended the government to felicitate the players with Rs 1 million each.
